Overview

Immediate opening for a full-time mid-level environmental engineer/geologist with 3 to 7 years of experience at environmental consulting and software firm that offers technically complex projects and unique opportunities for growth. You will be team member contributing to services in the remediation, compliance, and sustainability markets. You will participate and lead services related to investigation, remediation, greenhouse gas auditing, field services, and other areas. Candidate is mentored by senior staff and may lead junior staff. Position is based out of Mountain View, CA. Candidate must be local due to field work responsibilities. A work from home or hybrid arrangement is possible depending on project and candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follows and develops work plans and HASPs
  • Conducts or oversees field work including groundwater monitoring/remediation, indoor air sampling, and assisting with mitigation system installation
  • Coordinates with laboratories, drillers, vendors and subcontractors
  • Uses in-house proprietary database software
  • Conducts and leads analytical tasks such as mapping, preparing tables, and charts using software reporting tools
  • Evaluates and interprets field and sampling results, develops conclusions and recommends remedial measures in written reports
  • Communicates with clients and stakeholders
  • Interprets and follows environmental regulations, guidelines and orders
  • Assists with greenhouse gas verifications
  • Assists with project managements tasks including developing/managing/communicating schedules, budgets and tasks with project team
  • Assists in the preparation of proposals and cost estimates
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field
  • 3 – 7 years + environmental consulting experience
  • Experience conducting or leading environmental field activities including collecting soil, soil vapor, and groundwater samples
  • Self-starter with good communication and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Attention to details and strong time management capabilities
  • Ability to and willingness to travel to project and client sites–10-20% of work time, mostly within Santa Clara County

Desirable Qualifications

  • P.E. or P.G in California or ability to obtain within one year, preferred
  • MS with demonstrated writing skills such as a thesis
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training, preferred
  • Experience with ArcGIS and/or CAD software
  • Experience using or developing databases
  • Experience with California greenhouse gas emission inventory and/or verifications
  • Experience with solvent groundwater contamination, bioremediation and/or vapor intrusion
  • Experience with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments

SALARY RANGE:
$30,000 to $500,000
