- Discharge Permitting and Compliance
Many companies and public entities are faced by the challenges of appropriate handling and permitting of water discharges. These projects can range from routine stormwater discharges to complex site-specific water disposal efforts with one or more contaminants of concern. Locus will work with you to determine the most cost-effective path forward for your discharge, evaluating local sanitary districts and state-permitted storm sewers. We often suggest alternative mechanisms for handling your discharge that you may not have considered, such as permit exemptions for specific types of discharges or National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) general permit applications.
Locus can prepare and certify discharge permit applications, monitoring reports, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Spill Prevention Countermeasure Control Plans (SPCCPs), and other documents required per local and state regulations. Our experience and familiarity with these types of projects helps keep costs low, while maintaining compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements.
If your site requires ongoing monitoring or sampling, Locus has an in-house sampling crew and a network of laboratories to cover those needs. Our Environmental Information Management (EIM) system is used to compile the relevant data and generate monitoring reports automatically, greatly reducing the cost for maintaining compliance. The data can also be exported directly into the California Integrated Water Quality System (CIWQS) or Geotracker if your site is located within California. In addition, many other standard federal, state, and local data formats are also supported.
