eWaste is a comprehensive, easy-to-use software program for the classification, packaging, storage, manifesting, transporting, disposal, tracking and reporting of hazardous waste.
It automatically assigns EPA and DOT regulatory information to waste chemical products and determines the chemical compatibility of waste chemicals, safely assigning them to containers with compatible items. eWaste also manages waste profiles, allowing for full EPA reporting capabilities and reduced errors in shipping descriptions.
eWaste synchronizes with Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), as well as portable bar code readers, for quick, accurate collection of field data and container tracking.
eWaste also features point-and-click preparation and printing of 11 different state waste manifest forms, as well as federal uniform, nonhazardous, and bill of ladings. It can automatically prepare up to a nine-page manifest utilizing either uniform or state- specified continuation sheets. In addition, eWaste prepares management, cost tracking, and regulatory reports, including the Biennial Regulatory Report and SARA 313. It was designed for ease of use and customization to include user specific forms and reporting requirements.
Locus’ eWaste is a stand-alone, database-driven program that can be installed on a Local Area Network.
eWaste uses the container as its basic logical unit to maintain data, report, and track waste, from receipt to shipment and archiving. A container can range in size from a small lab pack to a drum to a carload of material.
eWaste contains a comprehensive chemical database to determine that all materials in a container are chemically compatible to satisfy DOT and EPA regulations for shipment and storage. Incoming waste is assigned to a compatible container by eWaste based on the waste composition. eWaste then automatically generates labels for the container and assigns the container to a shipment.
Waste information is viewed by container or by summary of containers. Each container is a database record that includes many fields such as container ID number, proper shipping name, and accumulation date. A shipment is documented in a manifest, which lists all pertinent EPA and DOT information about the containers in it. All information about containers is retained for future reference and reports. Unshipped containers are maintained as active, while shipped containers are archived to storage status.
