What is a Portal?
A web portal presents information from diverse sources in a unified way. Apart from the standard search engine feature, Locus ePortal offer other services such as e-mail, news, regulatory information, RSS feeds, application integration and interoperability, general information, and much more. Portals provide a way for enterprises to provide a consistent look and feel with access control and procedures for multiple applications, which otherwise would have been different entities altogether. Locus ePortal is built on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and provides Single Sign On (SSO) access to applications and content making the life of environmental executive and manager much easier.
Locus' Resource Management module, part of ePortal, is designed to capture, organize, and manage your enterprise-level sustainability factors and goals. It includes tools to capture consumption of electricity, fuels, and water; manage quantity and quality of waste and wastewater; and measure output of company product lines for ratio analysis.
Once you upload the information to the Locus system, you can optimize and reuse it for analysis of resource consumption reduction, calculation of air emissions and GHG, sustainability reporting, and many other key performance indicators that ultimately lead to lowering operational costs and reducing your company’s environmental impact.
The Resource Management module allows your company to collect, manage, and analyze consumption, operational, environmental, water, air, and energy data.
Your company enters its resource consumption and waste production data at the facility or plant level into the Locus ePortal module. Measurements can come from various measurement devices, including:
- Electric, water, gas, and smart meters
- Wireless devices
- Treatment systems
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Movable equipment
- Sensors
- Continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS)
- Smoke stack attributes
- Vendor invoices
Once it's been uploaded to the system once, you can access and reuse that information in other ePortal modules for further processing, modeling, and regulatory compliance reporting.
